Pharmacy inventory software built for Ghana
Pharmacy inventory is not one number beside a product name. It is stock held at a branch, received in batches, sold from the shelf, moved between locations, counted by people, and sometimes written off. PharmHive keeps those events connected so a pharmacy in Ghana can see what it has and why the balance changed.
Common questions
Does PharmHive track different batches of the same medicine?
Yes. Each batch can keep its own quantity, cost and expiry date. That matters when an older batch should sell first or when one delivery must be traced separately. The product total remains visible, but it does not erase the batch details underneath it.
How does PharmHive decide that an item is low or out of stock?
Out of stock means the branch has no sellable quantity recorded for that product. Low stock compares the current quantity with the product's configured minimum level. Those signals depend on the pharmacy maintaining sensible minimums and recording receiving, sales and other movements correctly.
Can I see why a stock quantity changed?
Yes. Product History shows the movement timeline behind the balance, including sales, receiving, transfers, returns, write-offs, adjustments and applied stock-count corrections. Entries preserve quantities, the before-and-after balance, branch and responsible staff member where that information belongs to the event.
Does pharmacy inventory work when the internet is down?
Core inventory and point-of-sale work in the offline desktop app with local data and synchronize when connectivity returns. Some actions that require a current cloud decision remain online-only by design. The offline guide explains that boundary instead of promising that every screen works without a connection.
How are expiry dates handled when a product has several deliveries?
Expiry belongs to the batch, not to the product as a whole. A later delivery does not replace the older batch's date. PharmHive can show the earliest-expiring stock first, highlight expiry risk, and preserve the batch when stock is moved between branches.
Will the software automatically make my stock accurate?
No software can see an unrecorded carton or know that a shelf was counted incorrectly. PharmHive supplies the controls: recorded receiving, permissions, movement history and structured stock takes. The pharmacy still checks deliveries, enters correct facts and performs physical counts when the system and shelf need reconciliation.
